Automated Insights

​​We evolved Crystal's capability to provide a totally new set of additional information on your data: the Automated Insights.

Available both on Web and Mobile apps, these textual insights are displayed any time you ask Crystal about a compatible topic, guiding you to better understand your data and sparing your time in checking your graphs in detail.

On Mobile, Automated Insights will be available only in Expand Mode for every Topic Card.

Various Insights are always available for each supported Topic Objective, from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 8 Insights: this number can vary based on your data specifications.

When possible, you can receive high-level descriptive information on the comparison between the last consolidated periods and their corresponding periods in the previous year, based on the supported Time Granularity of the Topic.

Additionally, you can also receive information on potential anomalous values in trends over time, including when they occurred and what their expected interval should have been.

The only Topic objective which does not support this feature is the Highlight Topic.

Let's look at them in detail for each Topic, we will provide an example of the Topic asked the advisor and the relevant insights Crystal will return, followed by a brief explanation of their meaning.

Objective: Comparison

Sample Topic: "Comparison of sales vs. target by industry".

Available Insights:

  • Highest Values: AUTOMOTIVE has the highest value for sales of €9.51M and target, which is €11.42M.

  • Lowest Values: ELECTRONIC has the lowest value for sales of €4.56M, and target, which is €5.47M.

  • Unique Values: There are 7 unique values for industry.

  • Highest Variability: Overall, target has the highest variability, with an average of €7.26M and a standard deviation of €2.83M.

  • Highest Difference: PHARMACEUTICALS has the highest difference of -€1.93M between sales and target.

  • Lowest Difference: ELECTRONIC has the lowest difference of €914.16k between target and sales.

Objective: Ranking

Topic Questions: "Ranking of agents by sales" '

Available Insights:

  • Main Difference: As consecutive values for sales, Olivia Rowe (€113.66k) and Dario Contarini (€473.33k) have the highest difference in the ranking of €359.67k.

Available Insights:

  • Lowest Average: PROFESSIONAL SERVICES has the lowest average value of licenses over time of 4.22 k, with a standard deviation of 658.

  • Extreme Values: TRAINING COURSES has the highest value of licenses over time of 9.53 k (recorded during January 2023), while PROFESSIONAL SERVICES has the lowest one of licenses over time of 2.87 k (recorded during July 2019).

  • Highest Difference: TRAINING COURSES has the highest difference of licenses over time of 2 k, recorded between November 2020 and December 2020.

  • Highest Similarity: For licenses, PROFESSIONAL SERVICES and PRODUCT LICENCES cross the highest number of times (2 times).

Available Insights:

When encountering a Highlight Topic in Advisor, you can access a collection of Automated Insights based on other Insights related to similar Entities. This allows you to receive useful insights about those Entities, even if the Highlight Topic only provides a simple number.
